I had one of them a few years back. Great fun, can be a bit skittish at times under power. Have a look at:

I dont ride like a tit on the motorway it sat at 70-80 no problems with plenty of grunt in top gear to shoot past them annoying volvos and such, i will never max it out as there is just not enough wind protection but its good fun and on the twisties (nearly every road where i live) its superb plenty of power for the straights awesome braking and handling... and i have yet to get the bike all the way over through the bends... i dare say soon i will experience its skitiish side when i push it too far lol.. it was a choice between this and a supermoto for me im glad i chose this now as it has the touring potential the supermotard lacks... will add more info of it once i have had it more than a week and i kinda agree the seat can hurt ya bum lol !!

Yay, another '03 Z1000! I love mine, have had it since August and put almost 5,000 miles on it. The guy that I bought mine from had swapped out most of the red for black, put a 4-2-1 Muzzy exhaust on it, swapped for Zx6R front forks/brakes and rear shock, put in a fender eliminator and integrated tail light/turn signals. Such a sweet bike. Then again, I've never been on a "real" sportsbike so really can't compare.
