Just a quick poll whats your preference when you change the oil in your bike.

Swaying towards fully synthetic for the 1000 at the moment as a lot of places recommend it, but a load recommend semi synthetic as well. Laughing

Semisynthetic oil used here. I have been told horror stories of fully synth messing with the clutch? Don't know the truth in this?

Cheers

Semi-synthetic in my R6. That is what the Yamaha dealer used to put in it from new, so that is the way I have carried it on.

Unless you are intending to leave the oil in for a zillion miles then I think a full synthetic is just a waste. Even at 4000 mile intervals, semi-synthetic oil is still like new and nowhere near 'breaking down'.

Rock Oil Guardian Semi-Synth...

I hear that the clutch slip only happens if you randomly switch to fully synthetic after a while of using mineral/semi?

To do with friction modifiers or something usually found in car oils. Starting to think it's a bit of an urban myth with more modern bikes.
