Hi;

I need new tyres as my current ones have no thread on them at all. I was looking at continental tyres, they have sports-tourer range and sports tyres... I dont commute on my bike (as I walk to uni) and ride my bike afternoons and weekends for fun, I do ride in the wet aswel if I need to. Are sports tourer tyres better as in value for money as they last longer compared to sports? As some comments on the tyres were like, the best "hyperbike" tyre etc etc b*llocks. I only have 60bhp at the back wheel anyway Very Happy

Pirelli Diablo's are where its at for the ZXR 400. In the 4 years I had mine I tried lots of different types and found the Diablo;s to be the best!

I think they have been superceded by the Diablo Rosso now, but I guess they should be similar!

On my 250 (180/55 back tyre) I have to ride with ones which are Z-rated.. which to be honest isn't ideal for 28bhp bike.

Is there any tyres which have a lower heat rating yet for the size I need?

Not hijacking this thread or anything Rolling Eyes

Quite a few peeps I know use BT090s on their 400 track bikes.

Thumbs Up

H-rated Pirelli Diablos are supposed to be good from what i hear. So are BT090's, but they will wear down pretty quickly. Depends on how hard you want to hoon.

i've got a pair of bt 90's on the rvf,
the outside thread doesn't seem to be very deep, i am nearly on the one of the "wear" notches on the front after naff all miles (less than couple hundred track miles) so i probably wouldn't buy them again unless i got a cheap pair. Confused

Dunlops gp70's or alpha 10's are also supposed to be good.

BT090

Simply the best for 400 power, sticky from cold, outragously sticky when warm, warm up quickly, sticky in the wet.

Will last 2-4k miles depending on your riding style but worth every penny.
