The thread was not so bad. A few complaints, and quite even-handed responses from both sides. Non-riders will always be frustrated by filtering motorcycles - it is not surprising. What was surprising was how mild the tone of the thread was. Whereas in this forum, it would likely very swiftly become a list of how much violence would be perpetrated against said car/driver.

Yeah i though the reaction of some of those drivers was very reasonable.

It does go to show you no matter how much riding ability you think you have some car drivers wouldnt know what a motorcyclist was until they pulled a u-turn in front of one!

Doesn't something hit you about this though. That we're being typified. The general consensus is that the biker can and will filter at every opportunity even when it's not safe?

Now anyone who's capable of thinking should be able to tell that *everyone* is different, but some of these chaps are intent with their lines of thought that pretty much all bikers are tossers.

So why not take the moral high ground and let them whine. Let them blow off their nonsense and laugh at them. Don't bother trying to defend biking, or the privilege of being able to filter. Be safe and smug in the knowledge that it take balls and a lot of training to ride a bike and it's a lot more tricky than guiding a four wheeled vehicle. Fukkem, leave em to it.....! It's all gravy.
