Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me.
The story so far: my gz125 marauder wasn't performing very well only going about 40mph, so I dismantled the carburettor, cleaned it and rebuilt it exactly as haynes manual.
When i refitted it, the bike would start and idle, but as soon as I revved it, it would die.

I thought I had done something wrong but got it checked by dealer and he said everything is ok with carburettor.
Someone else said it may have been the diaphram so I changed it just in case.

Unfortunately that made no difference.
So could someone please help.

Chris

Cover the airbox up about 90% and tell me if it revs up

I tried to start it up today and it wont idle. It starts then dies straight away.
I covered up the airbox like you said, but it didn't help.

You haven't changed/blocked the carb jets or fuel lines have you? or possibly when cleaning the carb it could have blown some of the carb gunk into the system and made a block somewhere so its getting starved of fuel so wont drive?

no, i didn't change the carb jets, and after I cleaned it, my local suzuki dealer took it all apart, cleaned it and agreed that everything was fine.

I have also drained fuel tank to see if the fuel filters were blocked, but again nothing wrong there, and the fuel lines are clear as well.

thanks for all replies as this is really starting to puzzle me.

I was playin around with the carb last night, and I managed to get it running.
Only the thing is I was controlling the diaphram and plunger by hand after taking off the cap.

So, I now know it can work, i just need some help setting it up to do it on its own, as it would be a bit inpractical riding around with one hand moving the diaphram Smile

Any help much appreciated

You cant set anything up to lift the diaphragm. It lifts by vacuum. Id check the vacuum chamber is selaed off and that there are no tears in the rubber
