I finally lost my 1000cc virginity, and boy was it great. The power throughout the whole rev range is fantastic. Braking is the bollocks. I really can't wait to get out on one again. My test is booked for May 12th, then im straight out on something with a little bit more grunt that my RS.

Sorry, i just thought i would tell everyone Thumbs Up

Apparently on those 1000cc bikes (esp. the R1)you can increase or decrease your speed using the throttle.

Isn't that right Colin?

i got a 400.... but would rather have a big bike but a 33bhp r1 or fireblade would be pretty crap.

i can still totally rape cars which is pretty much all i ever see in glasgow until the 2 months of summer which is enough for me at the moment.

was it an rs50 or 125 u had before u tried the fireblade? either way its a pretty huge jump but as long as ur sensible and dont panic it shouldnt be that bad, just dont try an show off when you get it as thats when everything bad ever happens.

125 to a 1000 Neutral
Isn't that quite chaotic?
Nvm As long as you feel comfortable on it then go for it mate...Don't try and push the bike to the limits as the limits will be so much higher than what you are used to on your 125.

Yeah is a quite big jump, its all good though.

Im liking that pic of the fortuna r1. Lovely bike. I'm not sure about all these bum fun quotes though Shocked

Ive already had it in a small tank slapper. That thing is seriously in need of a steering damper.

And Damz, it was the 125. Still a quite a jump from a derestricter RS to a un restricted Blade. I cant wait until i pass my test. Thumbs Up

Is it true that on a '98 R1 if you pin the throttle the world starts spinning backwards?

If so, I want one.

Wink

the key is that with a litre bike you can do it with the slightest touch of the throttle

a subtle difference in text, a big difference in speed
