As the title says, I want a sh*tter of a bike to fiddle around with. I don't care if its crash damaged, rotting in a shed or scratched to feck. I just want a runner for <250 that I can play with over the summer holidays.

Obviously ebay might present something at some time, but it's not looking good. I don't know enough people with bikes to get one through a friend of a friend, and salvage places take the piss.

I'm near canterbury, is there any sort of yard or anywhere where I can go and have a looksie through a stack of broken bikes and take one home with me for little monies?

You could try the likes of loot? That always used to be a good source of broken bikes.

Friday Ad, free small ads paper. Got a website too I think.

I got a £100 CG-125 out of there, fucked about with it, failed to get it to work, but learned a fair bit, and sold it for £100.

www.gumtree.com (find a city close to you though - if you've never used it before)

I do believe there's a silver SV650S going for sale.

Several careful owners, one idiot.

Thumbs Up

I'd be interested in tobys bike, but it is proper far away.

Cheers for the replies, I've had a look on gumtree and friday ads, I guess I'll just keep up the search.

So did I.

Its got to go. So I can use the 200 sovs towards my next 350 quid shed. That I will no doubt get a week or two's riding then sell it on for 200 and so on and so on.... Rolling Eyes

Bloody bikes, anybody got a mint bike with low mileage, runs well still under warranty preferably with tax and mot and a full tank of juice.

My budget will soon be as big as 200 hopefully.

No 50's please.

If you want a bike could do worse than looking up your nearest auction places. Try to find which ones the police use to offload their stuff is usually a good bet.

'Phone them up to get the sales date(s) and also some idea of what'll be there. Go and have a look round and at least you'll get a chance to see/hear it running (or not) when it's wheeled in for auction.

HTH Thumbs Up

Tried jumping and bumping it the other day, nothing.

Well it was trying to start but kept popping so it could have been flooded I just put it back the garden and somehow resisted the urge to bash it with my lump hammer. I waked in, in a right strop and grabbed the hammer but stopped just before smashing it up. Mr. Green

So I have no idea now and no inclination to find out.

as around local garages (backstreet garages, not dealers) as a handful of mechanics usually have some things like that rotting away behind the tyre stack Thumbs Up
