Is anyone off to Thruxton this weekend?
I'm really looking forward to it now, what with it being my first SuperBikes outing.

What is Thruxton like as a track? It's a shame that it's pretty flat and featureless, but at least the speed should make up for that a bit.

I really want to see Tom Sykes do well this season, seeing that he's a local lad and all that Smile

I'll be the one riding in on a GS500E Embarassed I won't pretend to mix with you racers though! I know my place Smile

I'll be there, but I'm not going on the bike. There's a car-full of us coming over for the shenanigans. You'll see most action in one of the grandstands, if not, head for the 'complex' Cobb Seagrave Campbell corners all just below a bank. Get there early for a good spot though.

I didn't realise it was on this weekend 'til a couple of days ago, but I am tempted to head down on Sunday. Shay, you headed up from Winchester-ish?

Cheers Stuntman.

Does anyone know exactly what Paddock Transfer entails? We booked a big group of tickets, so got this included, but are wondering exactly what it means.
I understand that we can mill around by the garages and team lorries etc where the teams are based?
Can we stay there while the race is on, or does everyone have to go back out onto the outside of the track?

I think if you have a paddock pass you can stay on that side of the circuit while the race is on. Thruxton doesn't have a spectator section on the infield (or for that matter most of the outfield!!) so you won't see much from there while the bikes are running.

I'll be there all weekend.

Paddock pass means you can mill about in the paddock amongst the team trucks, hospitality centres etc. It'll give you a bit more of an insight into things. As UnknownStuntman said, there's hardly any of the track to be seen from there though (although you can from the pub!).
