Make your own. Thin aluminium plate from B&Q, cut it to size, print a reg number, glue it to the plate, cover with self-adhesive plastic laminate and drill a couple of holes. About 50p all in. ____________________ "There's the horizon! Ride hard, ride fast and cut down all who stand in your way!" |

If it's smaller than standard, it's totally illegal.
It's merely a case of how small can you go before the police either;
A) Notice
B) Decide your being stupid and pull you ____________________

I got my last one from Rorys Plates. £11 delivered. I only really got it cos i needed to use my free £10 ebay voucher on something. proper good quality and next day delivery. Its a 7x5.5 but otherwise is standard ie no stupid fonts, slogans or background pics. i've never had any bother but this is london - i thnk theyve got better things to do unless theyve pulled you for something else. a one-line plate is guarranteed to get you pulled eventually though.
oh, here's a tip - when you get it make sure you drill from the outside in not the other way around like i did, moisture is getting in a causing the topsheet to lift a bit around the holes. ____________________ Suzuki SV650S K7

im thinking about getting a plate thats just a tad smaller. I have no intention to deliberately cause trouble, but im fitting a tail tidy soon and the humongous plate wont do it any favours |
Not being funny but if it aint regulation size it illegal, no if's, no but's, its illegal.
we all like the look and the idea of a smaller plate, we have all heard the excuses that its easier to read bullshit but they will do you in derbyshire, i know for a fact that they carry a small card, like a credit card, that is marked up on the edges with the size of letters, distance between letters, distance from the boarder etc, everything is on it and if yours is different you "WILL" get done.
