A while back i was deciding about keeping the dt or getting my dads old Honda xrl 250 ('92), i decided neither was good. So last weekend i went up to an offroading dealer, and looked at a very nice drz took it out for a ride and was pleased with it, so i put a deposite on it. It had to be mot'd though so i had to pick it up next weekend Sad But the time came, and i picked her up saturday Smile

The dealer took a part-ex for my dt, not as much as i could of got for it but i couldn't be arsed with the selling process. Sad too see it go, but now i got a bigger toy Twisted Evil

The drz is a little beast and has excellent bottom end power and torque, its a litttle heavier then the dt (as you would expect) and you can feel this through corners, not that i am dissapointed though. Rode it back from the dealership which was a dual carrigeway for about 25 miles. Wasen't giving it full throttle and it was very windy, but so far got a nice 86 out of it Smile Not that the top end speed matters on the drz because it pulls like s*it, and is geared for acceleration.

Those of you who know drz's know there is a 'S' model and an 'E' model. The E is the more off-roady type - has no indicators, needs regular oil changes, no rear pegs, no speedo, plastic tank, lighter and slighty quicker, but not practical for everyday use. The S model is more of an on-roady but can be used for mild off-roading, but has the benifits of the on-road such as indicators, speedo, rear pegs, mirrors.

The bike i have is the S model and is practical with a slightly slower but more maintenece free engine. But it has features from the E model such as - a plastic tank, smaller (off roady) seat, E model exhaust, off-roady knobblie tyres. So in theory i have the best of both worlds, i can use it for my every day usage to and from work and take pillions and i can take it off-road. So this marks all my criteria Smile

Hope you like :
