Screw it!

I'm sick and tired of using my bike as my only transport.

I get to work/gigs and I look like shit because I can't do shit with my hair, I'm dressed like a cunt in fucking textiles that don't keep me dry anyway and to top it off it's fucking cold.

Screw it, I'm getting a car license, the extra money is worth it.

I see your argument.

I have both licenses and occasionally go off the bikes, but I always miss them.

Hell I'm fed up with them at the moment. Laughing

Do eet, but get a decent car. https://img72.imageshack.us/img72/2406/esede1.gif

Shaun, Why not keep you bike and use it on the odd sunny days rather than everyday. Providing you have car license anyways. Always worth having the bike to back you up in case the car crashes out on you.

I got 2 cars as well as a bike. One is a company car and the other is my own.

I use the bike purely for pleasure. I don't commute to work as i'm a service engineer and work from home technically.

I say get a cheap car for when the bike isn't practical but keep the bike for summer/sunny days.

Here here, I've had enough of being cold and wet.

Looking forward to passing my car test in the army but will probably get a bike again. Maybe even a track bike. The roads are a bit too mental for my liking!!

The cold and wet stuff can be dealt with, with a lot less hassle than getting a car licence, the gay-hair-stuff can't really Smile.

I own both and it has made me very lazy. The slightest look of rain im in the car. But yor argument is a valid point as a bike is nice but not totally ideal.

I think that's a brilliant idea. Sell me your Diversion for very cheap please cos Himself has been looking out for one as a commuter/winter hack for a while now.......... Thumbs Up

I am also of the opinion that the best option is to get your car licence but don't buy a car, just borrow M1ke's........ Twisted Evil

There's nowt like sitting in a nice warm car in shorts & T-shirt in the middle of winter with the heater blasting or air con in summer. Cool

Company car has Air con. It's used all the time but it is heavenly whilst stuck in traffic on a 28ºc hot summer's day.

In winter it acts as a dehumidifier and stops the car steaming up and makes the heater less stuffy. It also clears frost in no time at all.

If I had a car, as has been said, slightest hint of rain and I'd be in it.

Bike all the way, not because its comfortable cause its not, but its great fun.

Life is dull enough without having to sit in traffic or get the bus to work. I had to get the train out of Edinburgh Waverly recently during rush hour: It was mobbed! I pass the number 22 leaving the gyle and its rammed, how do those people do it, day in day out? Same bus, same people, everyday for years and years...

Nah, I'll stick to the bike ta. The prospect of dying horribly on your daily commute adds a certain tang to life.

Thumbs Up

ok i may have been a bit harsh Very Happy but to swap a car for the bike is just dumb, but to have both is fine, its good having your car licence, it makes it easier to hire vans when your bike breaks down Very Happy lol.
i have nearly every licence, including car truck, bus, taxi, tracked vehicles(tanks/bulldozers), heavy rollers, ect ect, im just missing the ambulance.. Very Happy but id rather be in the back of one of them Mr. Green
get you licence by all means Thumbs Up

I have both, although my shitty car makes me want to take the bike come whatever. When going to work I don't care what I look like, when going to gigs I tend to drink so will use public transport or get a lift from mates.

I'd say having both is the way to go if you can afford it. Nice bike, crap car.

But what do I know? I’m still on the high from passing my bike test and will take it everywhere unless I have to carry a duvet or if it’s snowing.

1. Wear a hat or shave your head.

2. Get some *decent* textiles that work.

Wink Thumbs Up

(By the way, seen some new Dianese stuff - I don't normally recommend their stuff - it really did not look like bike gear at all. I reckon you could pass off the bike jacket I saw as a normal black coat easy)

Go for it. Thumbs Up I used to think it was clever riding a bike 24/7/365. Looking back it was stupid.

I do prefer sitting in my car when it's minus whatever outside with the climate control set to 22 degrees with a fag in my hand and the stereo on.

No amount of layers and heated grips can replace that no matter what you say. Most people who argue any different probably havent owned a car and hate them for no good reason. Laughing

yeah there is some casual bike looking gear about now. tad expensive though but certianly less expensive than taking on another motor to financially maintain.

I now own 4 bikes and it seems the more bikes I've owned the less I now get to ride on the road
Will u mind that happening.1

i bought some kevlar jeans x2 at christmas for £80 and they good, even had them passed off in the office as trousers .

I think it's about maintaining your perspective and whilst you don't have to give bikes up, you do need the right tool for the job. A car licence would certainly give you more options, but more expense aswell if you intend keeping the bike. Penny Coin Penny Coin
