Is it true that Volvo drivers are the worst enemy of bikers? My mate says so and I was wondering what your opinion was? His father seen 2 volvos crashed into each other and was going to take a photo of it and send it in to a bike mag but he thought he had better not just in case someone had died lol...

I don't think Volvos drivers are worse than anyone else in a large, safety-cocooned car.

They have a bad rap from when Volvos were tanks compared to other cars, but that's not really the case any more - there are plenty bigger things on the road that idiots can buy so that they do maximum damage to what they hit and minimal to themselves.

I think most of these new pink licence drivers are more dangrous than any other drivers..Even school mums.

Girls boyfriend at work tried over taking on a bend and hit a tree. As funny as i thought it to be, a biker could of been comming the other way. Bet the tree lived though.

But to answer your question. Yea i have had some bad experiances with volvo drivers...

Dont think everyone should be painted with the same brush though.

Volvo used to be the sworn enemy of bikers (Volvo backwards is Ovlov which is latin for I roll Wink ) but these days they seem to have been overtaken by BMW drivers.

All the best

I think around here, the sworn enemies (excluding boy racers of course) are BMW drivers. I've not seen one that doesn't drive like a tit or try to climb up my arse. If he really gets on my nerve i just open the choke n switch down a gear n he has to drop back cos of the smoke Laughing . (very few are actually bothered by the smoke but it sounded funny i hope Smile ).

I think its a bit of a generalisation saying ALL volvo drivers are a bikers nightmare.

I hear of plenty of crap white van men drivers and equally shit women drivers in 4 by 4's etc.

Its not the vehicle thats dangerous as such... its the person driving it.

Besides volvos have heated leather seats and a 6 foot boot so don't diss them. I can't think of another car that would carry a whole Nsr in its boot as well as 3 other people Wink

I like people who drive 911 turbos, they are very nice people. They move over when I'm filtering along. Very Happy

Mind you they only do that so I don't damage their nice shinny car. Laughing

Fair opinions on here so far, sounds reasonable, especially the 4 by 4 malarky. Too many of them gas guzzlers hogging the roads.

Two crashes in the same day too, sounds nasty guys, sorry to hear it.

Was it a boy racer and a white-van-man?

Where I live in North West London, Volvos are 'de-rigeur' for men in funny hats and long beards! They are naturally not good drivers and one tends to be very wary around them.

The worst drivers in London are definitely Mercedes drivers. Filtering is the norm in London, and Mercedes drivers are ALWAYS a foot or two out of kilter with the car in front and are often to be seen yacking away on a mobile phone! It is as if they deliberately want to impede motobikes! There are thousands of Mercs in London so it is basically a nightmare. BMW drivers also have this habit of impeding progress, however not all of them do and some can be bike friendly!

Taxi drivers in London are a bit of a mare! I'm also not enamoured with bus drivers either!

Well yesterdayI saw this woman in a white nissan micra pull out onto a roundabout from my right. I gave way. She swung out into the left had lane before coming off on her right (my straight on). I followed her for a little way and then watched her as she negotiated the next roundabout (she was going straight on).

I was going right so I got in the right lane and made a quick glance over to my left. There she was, too big for the seat and shuffling the wheel by moving her hands not more than an inch at a time trying to get around the roundabout. She was too fat to steer properly. The look of fear and concentration on her face was franky terrifying! If I was in a car she would have side swiped me!

What would happen if someone pulled out on her? the most she'd be able to steer the car by would be a few degrees, no way enough to avoid an accident.

Some car drivers are SOOO dangerous. Confused

Did you mean to call volvo drivers after a antero-superficial part of the female reproductive system Shocked

I mean honestly, I quite like volvos, you can sleep in the back of them - how usefuls that!

The reason why I type like it is because I type so damn much. I talk on 2 different forums at once usually. Posting on loads of threads all the time. When i'm in work it's the only thing I can do. (Other than work Razz)

I have also played online games for years and it demands that you talk in abbreviations. Sorry if it's hard for some people but I cant help it anymore hehe. Wink

EDIT: I've got out of the habit now!

TBH I find txt talk really hard to read - especially as I'm on a PC most of the day with various things. Normal language is just so much easier to read.
