Had a cracking ride out today ,a blast up to Hawes and then back through the Dales down to the Sun Inn before heading for home but disturbingly whilst sitting at the Penny garth cafe in Hawes supping a milky coffee (Delicious might I add) first a 57 plate green mondeo drove past with bizzies inside and then two minutes later a red 57 plate Astra went the other way loaded with bizzies again both displaying a tiny Police sticker near the bottom of the boot lid .A bit naughty that but it made me keep my eyes peeled on the run back through the Dales ---not that i would have had any need to worry as i wasnt breaking any laws or anything -cough erm cough honestly officer ha ha Thumbs Down Thumbs Down Shocked

There's a black 56 plate Focus around here I see a lot, also a silver Mondeo ST estate and a blue Jaguar X-type. Seems like the police aren't skimping on their unmarked cars, full leather and aircon too I bet Rolling Eyes

Too right, the money saved on the blue lights and striping pays for these essentials.

A mate of mine was seen posing as a drunk in a pub I drink in.
Or wait a minute....I think that was my mate who is a drunk and poses as a policeman? Laughing

One of the reasons I've largely stopped overtaking vehicles which seem to want to "take me on". It's much funnier to sit on their tail and watch them start getting out of shape when they can't shake you off. Give you plenty of time to make sure it isn't a copper too.

Most people concede defeat and back off to let you pass when they realise you are still behind them while they are pushing as hard as they can. Makes passing a whole lot safer.

Of course there is always the occasional nutter who doesn't know where their limit is but you are at least in a position to watch what they are doing and back off out of the way if necessary.

I always like to think it would be easier to refute any allegations of racing too. How can I be racing officer? He's driving a corsa and I'm on a VFR750. If I was racing him, I'd have been in front.

By all accounts, this is in a "Zero tolerance" force area. However, when this little stunt was taking placem there was some work being done around the police HQ. The resulting fire was, I am assured, unconnected to said stunt.

I would'nt worry about that Steve, its a promotional lambo, the police don't actually have a lambo, I mean what would the met do with it? It'd get no where with all the congestion in the big smoke.

However there are forces who have R1's kitted up as patrol bikes Drooling

You want to get a sticker set like that on your own bike. Where a Hi-viz jacket and it would really scare the people trying to race you, ride along side and say pull up, as they slow down speed away Laughing
