I was a hardened 400 cc nut, it did everything I wanted and more. This was untill I got knocked off and with the insurance money I bought a new bike....

I spent yesterday getting aquainted with my zx9r, jesus shitting christ its quick.
To sit on it feels like a heavier zxr 400, but the way it shifts is unreal. Im paranoid about getting caught speeding now !

I cant get over how comfy it is and how easy it is to ride. Overtakes no longer have to be planned in advance, no more dropping 3 gears to get from 70 to 100. Just open the throttle and vroooooom your off!

And that intake wail above 7000rpm, bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

this is addictive, im converted. I love fast bikes.

You where shocked there was a difference, when you increased the capacity of your machine by 225% Laughing What did you expect more powerbands?

Big bikes are just so much more competent and unstressed at higher speeds.
Safer too, you just have to get used to using more judgement and restraint with your right hand.

You got a micron on yours aint cha? Kawasaki airboxes DO make the most demonic noises past 7k... I just sit there giggling. Who says that 10 year old bikes are boring??? Razz I didn't know the reasoning for you getting the 9R was cos you got knocked off your 4? Either way, you picked a good time to be buying that, just as the frost and salt is clearing off the road... Wouldn't want to imagine getting on a 900 with the back end going everywhere.

The micron is gone, just fitted akrapovic downpipes and a leo vince carbon endcan. It sounds demonic.

Yep, that's exactly what the serious injury/fatality accident figures say...

I used to be very anti big bikes, after owning my GSXR.

I've come to the conclusion that it's not capiacity / power that dicatates how good a bike is on the road, it's power delivery.

My 900ss is a superb road bike. It doesn't beg you to ride like a tosser so much, letting you enjoy it where it really works, the corners.

Just watch your speed, and don't be too surprised after a week when it doesn't feel quick anymore.

Oli

About 5 seconds. Well it was for me anyway!

My ZRX1100 still feels mad after about 3 months. I can't get enough of it!

I have recently gone from an RGV250 to a ZX9R. Know what you mean about it being mental, Where the RGV was tailing off the ZX9R is just getting going! Dont think I have redlined mine yet, still building up the balls!

Handling I find different but not bad at all, in some ways better than the RGV, more stable and less twitchy, you have to conciously make the bike do something rather than just think about it and find the bike has done it already! Not a criticism by any means.

Hoping for some nice 4T reliability this summer Shocked

If it's anything like the E1 I had it is a blinding bike which is extremely capable, and I truly thought that there was nothing out there that could beat it for a very long time.

Enjoy but don't get caught speeding on it. Shifty Police I found 100mph cruising waaaay too comfortable for my licence's taste...
