I have recently rebuilt the top end on the engine and i have done everything by the book. The engine is now back in the bike for the third time and i am still having problems. The timing has been double checked, But still backfiring and loss of power. We have checked the most obvious possible faults but now we are clutching at straws...please please help. Crying or Very sad

Is yours fuel injection or carb?
You've probably done it already.

Cams lined up correctly, valve gaps, compression test?

Check carbs are seated correctly, manifold and link to air box is tightened up correctly. Vacuum pipes are all attached with no splits. Any other vacuum pipe take off points are blocked.

Checked float levels, pilot screw and jet? plug chop?

What have you done to the bike, if anything? New pipes, filter?

Have you fitted new plugs? Checked coils?

I don't think I'm far from you if you need any help.
