Cable ties, electrical tape, fabric tape set of allen keys and some jubilee clips you can fix many minor things with those on the bike,
I fixed my mirror back on with an allen key , and electrical tape (it'd snapped off). ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. ditch the mess tins and hexi stove, they are really poor in cold/windy weather because the open aluminium mess tins just let the heat right out before it gets to the food. and hex just burns to quick, and its a bugger to get out and really easy to accidentally set something on fire with.
get a Swedish army trangia, they are much more usable and they run on meths which is cheaper than hex (for the amount you need to head a pint of water say)
Cheers

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance. |

Scotland + Summer = Midges....
I would also recommend taking a spare pair of bike gloves. In the event of rain, your waterproofs should protect most of you, but it is horrible having to get up and put on a cold, wet pair of gloves before a whole day of riding.
A list of a few places to stay along your route. It is only there as a backup/emergency list, but for the sake of 1 piece of paper it can put your mind at ease should you really not want to camp. I've done this loads of times, and never used it, but it does give some reassurance. In France (I wasn't camping) I did the same with a list of F1 hotels, in case I couldn't find any other local accommodation.
As Itchy said, cable ties & tape are potential life savers.
If you are going to more remote places, then I'd recommend taking a puncture repair kit. Some people will recommend preventative slime, some will use aerosol cans on a puncture. I prefer to use plugs and I've never had any problems.
How long are you going for. Might you need/want some way to charge your phone? ____________________ Currently Riding: Triumph Sprint ST 1050

I agree with barnhatter
But carry a flask, and always top up with hot water whenever you can,,, cup-a-soups also easy to travel with...
Good luck and have a great time ____________________ MEMENTO VIVERE
