it may not be able to handle it mate you may get away with it if you put LEDs in the rear light but i put a upgrade in my runner and it was rubbish.
Find out what it is like H7, H6 ... ... ... tell me what it is and i will find an upgrade for you. ____________________ D Lewtas 2008 |

35w is the maximum, after that expect things to melt.
Even at 35w my bulb holders melted (grey ones) and I had to replace them for the more robust black ones.
Increase at your peril. ____________________ My mum smells your fingers |

Ok, fine, your right. What would I know, I just had a NSR and upgraded the bulbs Best not make calls based on other bikes, unless it is your own you are fiddling with.
Upgrade above 35w and keep a look out for headlight looms on Ebay - you will need one soon enough. Just do a search on the topic - it has been covered plenty enough.

To recap:
Quote: | it may not be able to handle it mate |
Quote: | 35w is not max mate you can buy upgrades that are like 45w /55w /85w |
Quote: | i had a 85w in mine but it was taking to much power. |
Quote: | i used to work in a garage mate |
I suppose the key word is 'used'.

The original bulb in my cb250 was 30w, I stuck a 65W halogen bulb in it and 6 months later still no problems, yet ____________________ 1987 Honda C50 LA-G (rare fully auto), 1996 Honda C90, 1994 Honda CG125 (stripped - now has crankcase full of water) 1981 Honda CB250rs-a, soon a gp100 to restore! ----> None have electric start!! Probably your wiring loom and bulb holder and maybe the headlight unit if you can find one to match. There may well be other complications too.
Alternatively ride as to the conditions allow. I had no problems with 35w halogen at night and I am not aware of others suffering so much.
rob_250, how does what your bike have any bearing as to what a NSR can use? Does what my bike use have instant compatability to your bike and the NSR? Afterall, it is a Honda. ____________________ My mum smells your fingers |

So it wasn't your light that was the problem then.
If they said they didn't see you then swopping the light won't make any diffrence.
Bang a spot light on it with a relay to keep load off the main wiring. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |
