I suspect the Spanish are a bit lax as a friend's father has been living there for 6 years and still has his british reg on his 4x4. Cool

Well, no.

you should get it registered in spain with a spanish reg, change headlight, get spanish insurance and spanish tax. Personally i wouldn't risk keeping it british, i know i wouldn't want to be in trouble with another country's police.

Because of the hassle i would sell up and buy a spanish bike over there.

fuck that, keep your plates on, and keep your bike, and be like what the polish are like over here, basically above the law.
they can give you a fine,(but would you pay it?? i wouldnt) but thats basically it, you won't receive speed camera tickets or get points on your licence.
how many million foreign cars and bikes visit spain each year??
you'd just be another one Thumbs Up

Ride it. My partners Ex used to ride his Savage over to see his Relatives on Gibralter all the time.

Best piece of advice my partner has come up with was to wrap up warm when travelling through the mountains.

As said, do not get on the wrong side of spanish coppers, they make ours look like your grandma, and they're a little too keen to whip out the colts in my experience.

Anyone see thatvid where they t-boned the kidnapper on a bike?

Headlight needs pointing the other way and it would probably be cheaper and easier to insure it if it was on a Spanish plate but there's loads of companies out there (well in the south anyway) that specialise in insuring english registered vehicles.

Yeah spanish coppers will escort you to a cash machine to take the money out to pay a speeding fine there and then!

Hey you lot are all wrong Mr. Green

I have lived in spain for almost 6 years now and when we moved out here my dad brought his 1500 CC yamaha with him (well of course ) and after 6 years he still has not changed the head lamp and gets a fake M.O.T every year and uses a spanish company for then insurance and he dosnt tax it and has been stoped many times and they never query it

The Guardia Civil ( Civil guards ) are right bastards and will get you for anything ( they even make it up some times ) They gave me and my dad a speeding ticket and they didnt even have a speed camera with them and when i questioned it he said i have two choises pay the fine or to spend the night in Prision Shocked ( i thought F**k that )

But the Policia Local Mr. Green Are absolulty useless the cant arrest you they have to call the Guardia all they can do i give out tickets most people ignore them Mr. Green

So baisicly yea if i was you i would bring out you bike to spain ( ride it out to spain even )and injoy it in the warm sun shine not the cold and wet
And i wouldnt bother changing the headlight its just a waste of time all of our family cars are english on english plates with no road tax and the Guardia dont care as long as you have your selt belt done up its ok
And also i wouldnt bother with the spanish plates its a rip off
they charge throught the roof a simple bike like 600 cc or less is 700 Euros and a car is about 1300Euros Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
