I've just got a GSXR 400. I intend to restrict it by means of a home made throttle stop. I'll let you know how it goes.

Yer im 17 and on a restricted bike its alright. Would like some more power for overtakes/ motorways and it doesn't wheelie. But for twisty roads and normal riding its more than enough. When you first get on it it's fast a fook but you get use to it and then start wanting to take the restrictors out. Still a load faster than any car you can get at are age.

they do, but not very well... ive been practicing a bit, and to get a restricted 400/600 to wheelie, you have to pull up HARD on the bars as you dump the clutch, and dump it at around 7-8000rpm

Im looking to get a restricted 600 as well. What bikes do you guys have? On MCN the people have commented on the R6 as being OK to start with restricted.

Confused if an r6 is ok, anything is!! its a super sport, i would say its too much for someone with little experience, plus it produces over 100 bhp and will mean u lose alot of performance. Look at at the naked 600's, the bandit and hornet are known for how user friendly they are. and wont lose as much power. The sv650 would be my choice. its only got 71 bhp so its only really the top end thats affected. It's v twin engine produces alot of torque low down. Plus, the sv650s with full fairing looks class, so if u dont like the look of naked bikes, that should work for you! take a look at my mates...

My first road legal geared bike yes, been driving Ktm's, thumpsters etc etc since i was about 10, my old road legal bike was a 210 moped. Really chuffed with the R6, just been out with my mate, his got an rs125 u can see the jealousy in his eyes! and gosh its fun to showoff Very Happy Very Happy. All thats Left now is to start paying of this loan:<, It's deffintley worth getting an R6 racer, if u can afford it handling is great and just limitless amounts of power, even the 2001 models look sexy as.

If its your first geared bike would go for a Rs125, bottom end my mates 07 model keeps up with mine. what u got remember as well on an r6 your gonna get it restricted so there wont be much top end speeds. I only reason i wanted an R6 was so i could travel around the continent with having to worry about the bike as much as i would on a 125 2 stroke.

Edit: Just order my new Numberplate from Dvla R666TNY, cost 250 lol, was a choice between R600TNY and that, thought i would choose cursed one :O

Lol it's just plain stupid lying about buying a bike then posting a marked eBay pic on a forum where half of us check eBay for nice bikes every now and then.

Unless of course him and the seller settled on a price and he got it earlier *shrug*

Smells a little fishy this one.... Like a forum old timer trying to take the mickey and see if they get anyone to bite just for a giggle.

Dunno though, could just be a real sad newbie who thinks they can make a name for themselves by thinking having a sports bike is gonna get them a rep.
