Hey,

Does anyone know of a company that will pick a bike up and drop it off for a price? I'm looking at my first 125 on ebay but would need it delivered - any ideas?

Cheers.

Dependant on your age it can work out cheaper to hire a van and go and get it yourself
Just take straps so you can fasten it down so it doesnt fall over in the back. Smile

Alternatively ask in your local region forums down the bottom if someone could take you pillion for beer money + petrol

Of course if you are in lands end and buy a bike from john o groats it may be a bit impractical Smile

Or you could always join a breakdown/recovery service and have an untraceable fault on the bike. But that would not be very ethical now would it.

Something tells me that the OP was after recommendations from experience, not someone saying "g00Gle L0lz0r".

He said "Does anyone know of a company that will pick a bike up and drop it off for a price?"

If he had asked for experience I would not have replied. I thought I was being helpful with the google link Smile

I used https://www.motorcycledeliveryuk.co.uk/index.html just 2 weeks ago. Absolutely great and very reasonable. Anywhere in UK to anywhere in UK for £125. Awesome guy runs it, sorts everything out for you. Highly recommended.

I'd be wary about getting a bike delivered off ebay if you haven't viewed it first. Worst thing you want is a pile of junk being delivered to your door and no way of getting it back to the owner for a refund etc etc.

If you're going to get it delivered you need to view it first to be 100% sure it's advertised correctly.

What people are saying is,
No matter how many pictures he takes,
if theres a problem with it, cosmetically say he wont take a pic of that, or can doctor the pic to reduce how bad it looks,
or what if its got a mechanical problem, you wont know until its at your house and it blows up on your drive now will you,
The internet is also full of liers when it comes to money im afraid.

Depends on the mileage. IIRC Newcastle to me (Hampshire) was about 120, Essex was about 80. Prior to that, I used a different contractor to bring a bike from Edinburgh and that was also about 120, can't remember the name of them at the moment though.

Edit: It was Freight Express, but their website seems to be down at the moment- www.freightexpress.co.uk

It may be cheaper to hire a van for a day or 2 days.

Thanks for the replys

Jokey - it's from Birmingham to Kilmarnock ( Scotland )

Think i'm going to give this company a ring - https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Motorbike-Motorcycle-Quad-Delivery-Collection-Courier_W0QQitemZ380013648933QQihZ025QQcategoryZ317QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

£99 for anywhere in the uk seems a fair price

What do you think?

The company above are on strike in Scotland for 2 weeks so won't be using them atm.

I have phoned lerner-rider and A&G services but got no answer yet.

Edit: can't find anywhere cheaper than £165 Sad
