Hey,

I know I've posted similar previous questions, but I just sort of needed to start from fresh again - I've looked at so many resources of information and I've just got really confused. I know my best bet is to wait until after the cbt and then take some test drives, but I just wanted to clear a few things up...

I went into a Honda dealers...I sat on a CBR 125, and the guy with me (who was taller than me) said he rides it fine. While looking at a Honda Varadero 125, another guy said this would be a much better bike for me and I would look too big on a CBR 125...

All three guys I spoke to at the Honda dealers said a Honda NSR 125 would not be a good buy...apparently, it would need too much maintenance and would give me problems...is this true or are they just telling me this so I'm pushed towards buying a newer bike from them because Honda dont make NSR 125s anymore?

I know the Varadero is good for me size wise, but the looks really arent doing it for me. The Aprilla RS125 has its good points, but it seems to be more expensive to buy and insure...I guess with a little bit more money I could find a really nice one, so that's a possibility.

I started off being really keen on the Honda NSR125..I absolutely love the look of it!..but after the comments from the guys at the Honda dealers, I've been a bit muddled up. What is everyones honest thoughts on the NSR...will it be a great learner bike that I can ride and work on...or will it just give me too many problems?

I think that's about it...the CBR 125 appeals to me being a four stroke and being a reliable bike...but it may just be a little too small.

So...NSR 125, Aprilia RS125, Varadero 125, CBR 125...

Any more help would be greatly, greatly appreciated...everyone has been really good with replies so far.

Thank you!

You seem to have made your own mind up already....

NSR125.

At the end of the day you are the one who has to ride it day in, day out. So go for your own choice.

I rode the 125NSR for the OH and I found it a nice little bike.
She is 6'1 and she fits it just nice.

Yea, that's what I was thinking when I got home...I was half hoping someone would say it on here.

I do love the look of the NSR, and its come out well in a lot of the reviews I've read...its definately the one I'm going to try and test drive first! Smile

Thanks for all your replies so far,

Bollocks to dealers don't beleive a word they say they just want you to buy things, an NSR may require a little more maintenence but it has to be worth it just not to be riding a CBR125

NSR all the way, Dont get me wrong any 2 stroke needs more maintenance and care. But the cbr is far too small in my opinion, I sat on one when met up with some mates last time had the bike on the road and felt like my pushbike with an engine. Not too mention i looked ridiculous. I have had a crap experience with my NSR but dont let this put you off, The NSR is wicked, much more impressive than other 125's i have tried. Plus not a bad top end compared to the small 4 strokes

Big Thumbs Up for the NSR!
