Im 23 and Im looking at buying a 125 to ride after passing my CBT.

Problem is I cant find a 125 bike i like/can afford that isnt 33bhp.

If i bought an oldish RS/NSR/Mito now hard/expensive would it be to restrict it down to the legal 14bhp?

Any help/advice would be much appreciated

If you want your bike to be under the 14.6bhp limit you're best off buying a 4 stroke as they tend to be more reliable and just underneath the limit.

Have a look at:

Honda CBR125
Hyosung GT125R
Yamaha R125

Restricting bikes is a lot harder than de-restricting them. Unless it's 33bhp restriction when it's usually washers in the carb.

CBR125 and Hyosung GT125R could be found pretty cheaply on eBay or Autotrader.

Be wary when pruchasing off eBay though and if you can, view the bike before you bid.

The Yamaha R125 has only just come out so you'll probably struggle to even find a second hand one. New they are £3,000.
