I like the yellow on my colour scheme and think it looks hot.Only problem is i tried to do it with the wheels still on and it went a bit off-centre in a couple of places.
I sorted it out by going over the top of the first layer with a second layer to even it out......but now i can`t decide if it looks tacky coz the overlap`s noticeable and it`s not single layer like it should be.
I`m a perfectionist you see...lol

i have white reflective strips on my tyres- i like it because it gives extra visibility at night! Tacky or not- Am i bovvered?

I'ld probably be more bothered if it was a racing 600 bike and i was trying to look cool, but it's a CBR125 used for commuting mainly and lets face it- it's gives enough opinions/issues just for being a CBR125

They are very hit or miss IMO, I was gonna get them for my Speed Four (Blue) but decided they wouldn't look right, but I really like them on the Green S4s and red tape on the black ones.

In my opinion, it sets a good contrast. Depends what the rest of your bike looks like. If you have very bad wheel rim chips because of your chain or disk lock, they can mask it out nicely.

In the first picture, you can see the chips on the rim. I say for 4 quid off ebay for the strips, they do a good job of masking the damage. I only say that it works for certain styles of bikes though. I remember when our dodsi spent the best part of a tenna buying black tape for his black rims

I also think that the key is to use contrasting colours. White against black on the rims. I can't say i'm a great fan of the luminous yellow ones. I stuck with reflective white - because it also adds to the visibility of my predominantly black bike at night.

I think it works quite nicely, had colour issues with my old bike maybe, its only in hindsight that im not so sure about the yellow/purple combination lol

I`ve just made my mind up.......they`re cool!
(as long as they`re co-ordinated with the colour scheme of the bike)

I think i`ll strip mine though so i can re-do them with the wheels off this time and get a neater line round the rim.
I was thinking of powder coating the whole wheels in flourescent yellow but i think that might be a bit much????
It`d look too much like those cheesy srads with white wheels...lol

One major gripe with rim tape is that if you become over zealous with your cleaning, it tends to un-adhere itself from the rim, hence in big ham, there's a quadrant of rim tape missing on his wheel. I used to go on sprited rides unware that one corner was missing, gets caught in the wind and flies off!

Also, do you get the pre-cut ones or the ones in a long roll that you have to apply yourself?
