I've had my 3rd rear puncture today since january.
Jan: Screw in the rear tyre, replaced tyre
March: Big **** off bolt thought the rear, replaced tyre
Get back from work today and hear 'pssssssssss' and my heart sunk, another screw in the rear tyre
I've only had this tyre just over 3 weeks (200 miles)
Am i just unlucky? |

Do you filter? , if you do and go on the patches learing up towards traffic islands theres loads of tyre danger in those places.
Also same with traffic lights, and also in the middle of lanes.
Tyre defence is pretty easy, ride in the places where other car tyres are, ie behind their indicators of stop lights.
Don't filter where its dirty, just stop and have a look.
On split speed bumps go down the middle.
Don't ride too close to the kerb, also if filtering down on the middle scan for debris in the middle to short distance, don't focus. ____________________ Spain 2008France 2007Big one 2009 We all die. Mind you. On some bikes the front wheel seems to set things up perfectly for the rear to run over them. I got a 4" nail in the rear tyre of my VFR, stuck straight in.
Bungs work WAY better than the manufacturers claim. Even those stab-through ones you do yourself. I've had one in for 4,000miles on a Z rated tyre (doing z-rated speeds). I had a damned good look at it when the tyre was removed and it looked good and solid even with the tread well below the wear bars.
As has been said, those pre-treatment 'slime' things seem to work well too. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
