Can anyone give me some nice places to visit/ride to over the bank holiday weekend?(preferably in UK with no more than a days riding to reach)
We`ll be staying in a hotel so i don`t think we`ll need loads of survival kit......but if there`s anything we shouldn`t leave without plz let me know..

cheers

Going to have to be Wales or Scotland Wales being practically on our door step, or go to Sheffield via Glossop Snake pass, up across to Saddleworth then north via Thirsk , then up to Scotland can be done in a day at high speed 2 slowly.

Head across North Wales on the A55, hit the coast at about Caernarvon then follow it down. Would recommend Barmouth, Dollgellau Tywyn or Aberdovey for somewhere to stay, or if you want an even loger road go past Aberystwyth to New Quay.

Go back the next day through the middle and enjoy the twisy roads through the mountains and lakes. Thumbs Up

Right we`re all set now.Got backpacks, rider comms, extra safety gear, booked the bike in for a quick once over at the dealers, and planned the route.
We`re setting off from manchester mid july and heading up through wales...then we`re gonna follow the coast round along plymouth, bournemouth and portsmouth for some SSS Wink ...should be a good buzz i hope.I`m tempted to hop on a ferry from portsmouth and have a quick trip over the channel for a spin through france to paris but i think that might be a bit ambitious for a first time tourer (who can`t speak french..lol)....so i`ll save that for later in the year and maybe do it at Xmas.

only part i`m not looking forward to is the ride back through central UK.It`s gonna be all motorways concrete and traffic. Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes
Nightmare.

wish me luck... Very Happy

What comms system have you got? I got the one from lidl which fine up to 70mph talking only. When you add satnav and music you can just hear a racket.

I got the scala rider teamset and i can`t fault it so far.
Works perfect with a zumo 550.
Everythings crystal clear and i can adjust the volumes for each feature (comms, satnav, music) so they all come through in different levels depending which one i want to hear loudest/quietest..

I`ve not tried any others but i`d say this set up`s one of the best.
