Woman trouble

This is incredibly rare of me but....

2 things essentially,

Am I utterly crazy in having thoughts of dropping everything and taking a 6000 mile £2000 flight to go see the girlie I met in Hong Kong ?. She leaves May 12th...

I'm somewhat unhappy about the fact that she is leaving Hong Kong to go back to Beijing and even with the best of intentions about meeting later on. I know deep down that I will probably never see her again.

As I have said when I leave a clan with true intentions to come back circumstances always dictate that I never go back the only exception is one of the old leaders broke her hip , I went back to see if she was ok. As said people change/die/move on...

My head currently says no , it'll never work out , and that I should make do with the memories I have which are priceless and unforgettable.

BUT I'm going to end up there anyway HK, and I don't exactly have much of a career to speak of here either... but the job offer there has been rescinded and to go out there is a huge risk as I will have essentially nothing....

But I might not be able to change her mind to stay...


The more important point...

Why the hell do I always keep getting into impossible relationships ?, with women who are totally compatible with me I like they like me and I can always see it going somewhere. I reminisce about my old relationships all of them short , all of them had circumstances which meant we could not be together....

why oh why.....

it happened when I went touring down France, when I lived in Germany and London , Plymouth and Cornwall.....

Does dropping everything mean losing your current job or just taking time off?

Personally I'd do it. The distance is no object really and £2000 isn't that much money. Certainly worth spending on a chance at happiness even if it doesn't come off.

It'd be cheaper to pick up the phone and do some serious talking to her first.

If she says she'll stay if you go over there, yeah go. You have family and contacts there, and a good work ethic. You will be able to make a go of it and she will be the icing on the cake so to speak.

If she says she's going back to China whatever happens then no, whatever you had obviously didn't mean as much to her as it did to you and you will end up alone and miserable, not the best starting point for building a new life.

Seems a bit daft to me to go all the way over there to find out how she feels when you could just ask her..........

Either way life is all about the little connections you make with people, and if you have one with this girl and it might be your last chance, go and while your on your way learn to play Lenny Kravitz - Save tonight on the guitar...

Well one long phone call later...that probably cost me £2000 , she is going to Beijing for her job till the Olympics are over as her job requires it ....she is a senior flight dispatcher/panner type and they need extra hands to cover the probably super busy Olympic period and the few months afterwards.

And she will return to HK in October later this year, , which means the chances of meeting up again are a bit better than previously thought .

Gosh I think I'm becoming old , the thought of settling down after 10 years of messing about seems somehow to be appealing. , I'll probably buy a VFR next .

Only concern is, you reckon you've had other girls like this on other travels?

Perhaps the fact you knew there was an end date made it less confining, and as such you had more fun?

By removing the title girlfriend on Laura we get on just fine and I don't feel trapped. So not implausible to think girlies in other countries might entice a commitophobe more then local girlies where you can see the whole scary future unravelled infront of you.

Just a thought before you go leaping in two footed.

I understand. Chinese girls are like this. No end of problems, you end up chasing them around the world, then they have a tantrum.

Just move back down south as well - I now seem to be loosely connected to a large underground network of chinese girls down here, all from HK, I'll sell you a brace for less than £2k.
