 |
|
A few years back I nudged a bollard and not really been too bothered by it but I want the car to look A1 for flogging to Joe Public.
Went to a crash repair garage but got turned away as I will be paying for it not loosing more NCB on it. Off to next garage and I had to pay £30 for a simple quote? I will of course get this back if I have the work carried out by them. Fecking swizz if you ask me!
The damage:

The bloke took a few pictures, scribbled on a tatty not pad and stood in silence. Asked me if I had any idea at the cost as he 'had no idea'. After another 30 seconds of ass scratching he replied with the quote.
What do you think the quote was? ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

£200
I know absolutely nothing about bodywork repair. If it's cheaper than the quote the guy gave you I could have a bash at it |

Very slight scratching to passenger door as well, so treated as 2 like you said. The actual dent is not that deep at all, quite shallow in fact but would need to be hammered out. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

Certainly not going to accept the quote, but won't be too impressed if all the garages charge £30 for a damn quote.
Don't mind paying a few hundred for it, but £600 is like a figure to imply that they can't be bothered but pay over the odds if you want. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

Sorry can't help with guessing the price of repair, but charging for a quote seems a right con.
Just seems like they charged you for a quote then gave a really high price in the hope you'd say yes to get your £30 back.
If they want your business then surely they can spend 5 mins working out the cost of there materials and labour for free. ____________________ Yamaha FZR400RR 3tj

He want's to charge £600 because it's gonna take a shit load of painting skills to match the orange peely look of the paint that's on there now. ____________________ Tristan the wrote: just whipped off my trousers to find a big bruise on my arse, caused by matt rear ending me... |

That looks like a flat red colour to me? I know our repairer would charge £180 plus VAT. as it involves two panels that need paint, and filling... what garage did you go to, bodgit and scarper ____________________ latest bike 03 R1 in zee red and black |
