This is probably already on here somewhere else but please do take a moment and sign this.
https://petitions.pm.gov.uk/motorcycle-tax/

If you haven't done one before it isn't anything to worry about, you need to use a real email and click a return link, using a silly name is not going to look good even if it is funny.

Taken exactly from the petition:

Quote:
Changes to the law mean cars emitting less than 100g of CO2 per kilometre travelled would be exempt from paying Vehicle Excise Duty (road tax)

Quote:
the average CO2 output from motorcycles at 110g/km.

The readers of this will throw it away as the author has instanly de credited the arguement.
Leave the politics to the politicians!
If you have a problem or an issue you wish to raise do so through your local MP who can follow the correct routes and procedures.

That's an average though. Do you think a Honda CG125 will put out more than 100g/km of carbon dioxide?

The tax for a Honda CG is going upto £33.

The emissions rules only apply to Cars, despite many bikes producing less than 100g of CO2 they won't be exempt from paying tax.

As previously mentioned the tax for motorcycles will be instead doubled!

This is stupid, they ought to be encouraging people to use bikes as a means to reduce emissions AND conjestion.

Does this exemption of tax only apply to new vechicles? If not you could lead to the lower cc car being a more economically viable option, leading to more cars on the road. More cars=more conjestion, will could lead to the introduction of widespread conjestion charges! Confused

This rising taxation combined with an economic recession has all the ingredients to leading to a rough time for many. People are going to get so pissed off, A repeatition of the 80s riots maybe?

This is all speculation of course!

BUT

When I have the means to I'm emmigrating!

Ta,
Jack

I signed it too but that site is just a sop to ease peoples minds, to make them think they've made their voice heard. I wonder if anyone has ever looked at the results of any petition and thought; "Oooh better not do that then then..."

As for leaving the politics to the politicians? Mmm, becuase they're doing such a good job of it... Confused

Wouldn't mind knowing their justification for the rise in duty... Even if only for a laugh.

Thumbs Up
