Grrr,

Just went for a short ride to relax.

Some clever driver decided that 'Give Way' didn't apply to him, because he was in a car and I was on a bike. Wasn't too bad, but if I'd been going faster (I was doing under 30) it would have been close.

Also got tailgated about 3 times, once really annoyingly by a taxi, even though the road was completely clear ahead and he could have overtaken but decided it was more fun to stare at my arse. In the end I pulled over so he would stop!

I think I need a bike which backfires decently, or... something?

What do you usually find yourselfs doing to counter the idiots on the road?

John,

From the little bike experience I have got I can say that I have pretty much met the same drivers as you. When I get tailgated there is little I can do on my 125. I woud love something a little quciker so that I could pull away from the tit heads. I'll plod on until I do my DAS!

Hehe, to get a decent backfire, whilst riding, hit the kill switch off for a couple of seconds and switch it back on Very Happy

When someone is tailing me, I either gently ease the throttle back a bit and watch them disappear out of my mirror, or keep braking lightly. If they are boy racers, I let them tailgate me for a while, and slow down so they can overtake me. When they get level with me, I speed up to stay alongside them, until they are forced back behind because of oncoming traffic Smile

Yeah I know, but it is so satisfying making the boy racer look like a tit in front of his bad boy mates/girlfriend. They shouldn't be tailgating in the first place

I don't really want to be going fast for very long, if at all in a built up area, so it's difficult to pull away from much on the AR since it takes so long to get going anyway. Laughing
