Hi all,

Basically I'm looking to task a university/student with a research project that will see them produce an encryption system for portable devices (ie usb pens).

For their work (the student/students) would be funded/sponsored through university etc.

The question is does anyone know any universitys that could help/are known for good work in computer encryption?

Any pointers to Universitys welcome.

Swansea University has a pretty comprehensive computer society, and plenty of computer science/computing students. Ring em up and ask to speak to the head of either the computing department or the head of SUCS (Swansea University Computer Society).

Interesting problem.
USB memory sticks only have a finite life with so many writes before failing. So ideally any work has to be cached, but if it's cached then it can be argued not secure.

I would ask why not stick to something like TrueCrypt Portable (Traveler Mode) but I guess the answer to that is it requires Admin privilege level.

Confused

Map - needs to be done to a "certain" level of security if you get me nod nod wink wink.

Spikenipple - Thanks, will add that to my list of possible places.
