bmw r80rt exhaust help

hi

my stepdad has just bought a 1983 bmw r80rt and it has some aftermarket stainless steel "jamma engineering" exhaust pipes on it. and they are sooo loud. a little too loud for plodding around on and long trips. iv had a good search for some original cans/pips but cant find anything. or even some kind of universal baffles we can fit to them.

can anyone reccomend anything or anyone in the midlands who could sort this please. would be a big help

you can buy baffles on ebay

depending on your cans,
post a pic, is it still twin exhausts or just the 1
if it has the old style megaphone exhaust, then a baffle from a gt750 may be the way to go, they are alot longer that the ones in the link

just a pic iv found on the net if you can work it out. ill get an up close pic of the actual bike if you need.
so do you think those universal baffles would fit? and do they work? do they restrict power?

iv also noticed today it has a H pipe fitted too.

can i ask about the gt750 baffle? where would i get one from and how would it fot? sorry for all the questions.but i have been looking at it and the can is very long and has enough room for a larger baffle.

the work to a certain degree, they kinda just change the pitch of the exhaust,
i made one for my bike out of a filter from a industrial sump pump,
it worked sweet as, as for losing power, who can say, it completly depends on your system thats on there now,
i would say if your old man can afford to throw a few bob at the bike, then a set of supertrapp exhausts would be the way to go as they are infinitely tunable (when i say infinite i don't me infinite )
you can add plates and increase the flow and noise or remove plates to quiet it all down.

cheers for that. i dont think he wants to splash the cash really. hes only likes to buy things when they are broke lol. anyway ill do a hunt for the gt750 baffles if not ill just get the universal ones.cheers again for your help.

is it the suzuki GT750 or the Kwak GT750, the suzi was a stroker wasn't it? with three exhausts hang on I think I've confused myself... err carry on the thread sorry.
