Sunday just gone, went to oulton to watch BSB... We got caught up in some fairly heavy showers on the A50 and the M6...anyway pulled up just before ticket entry point, put side stand down searched for ticket (I never remember what pocket I put them in Shocked ) lifted side stand, bike stopped and all my electrics GONE Shocked Shocked Shocked so I'm stuck in the middle of cars bikes queuing to get to the gate, when a very pretty police lady comes and says you will have to move on, I said I agree you fancy giving me a push love, which bless her she did..

got inside the gate went and handed ticket in, my mate had got through and we had lost each other, now I know a fair bit about cars as its my livelihood, but modern day bikes knowledge not good Crying or Very sad .
mate finds me 10 mins later with his bike which had the allen key I needed to remove seat (forgot mine Embarassed )...

I new it had t be electrical because of the loss of electrics Rolling Eyes I wondered if the rain we had on the way might have ingressed in to a connection. all seemed dry under the seat, the battery connection seemed fine in fact all the connections looked as they should do, all the time the alarm keeps setting itself as I couldn’t get ignition to work Twisted Evil ... In a bit of frustration and also in the hope it would work I banged the battery area with my hand, walhoa electrics came to life Cool hit the start button and lost them again Crying or Very sad so I new the problem was under the seat, re-pressed every connection tightly together, and the ignition light lit up as bright as my face had been earlier (pushing a broken modern day bike Embarassed ) and I had no problems on the ride home.

But I was very paranoid for the first 30-40 miles incase I lost power whilst over taking.

Anyone had this problem with R1 or any other bikes, and found the exact cause?

It sounds possible that you may have a faulty ground connection somewhere.
