Seeing as the weather is pretty hot at the moment, thought I better mention to watch out where you park.

I parked up at work yesterday as I had to go and see the groundsman (ok, I didn't need to, but wanted a brew) and parked on some fairly new tarmac. Came back out to see the bike on the floor, with the sidestand stuck into the tarmac! It had melted in the sun and the bike just sunk.

(When I saw "New tarmac" It's been there for almost a year now)

Be careful when parking!

Ahhh, I've been there...except my bike went one stage further and actually toppled over...it snapped the lever as well, which made for interesting riding for the rest of the day...

Mine was lead on the floor, luckily I haven't finished tidying her up since my crash in September (was off the road until recently) so no major damage, just the left hand bar twisted round.

FWIW I always carry a sidestand puck or failing that find a squashed can. Can be useful and a lot of places give the pucks away as promotional items free anyhow.

And if you drill a small hole in the puck and tie a few feet of string to it, you can retrieve it while sat on your bike. Thumbs Up Cool

Not quite sure why but I had visions of this, when he pulls the brick out from under the front wheel.

That's the free Fast Bikes gift this month. The mag might be crap, but the gifts are half decent.

I'd rather get 2 for £1.99 from halfrauds than spend £4 on fast bikes.

Aye me too, not my type of mag. I was a little shocked when I happened across a something useful like a puck at Halfords. reasonable price too.

Some cupid stunt of a company sold me a house that if I jack my truck up on the drive then it all starts sinking into the drive after 10 minutes. Rolling Eyes

That was a couple of weeks ago before it started warming up. Wonder what it'd do now. Laughing

I can imagine a pick up door deep in driveway lol.

And I was pleasantly surprised at that puck in halfords, previously all they were good for was over priced Muc-Off.

Finally had an answer from the customer service people about me wanting them to come and fix my drive.

Apparently it's my fault that the drive is weakened. As I've used a pressure washer to clean my truck that has caused the tarmac to become weaker. They're unable to tell me how me washing my truck with a pressure washer causes the tarmac to become damaged, but thats what they're saying. Laughing

One phone call to the MD and one phone call to NHBC (warranty provider for new homes), hopefully something actually going to happen now. Rolling Eyes

Tarmac... weakened by water. Maybe their thinking was affected by fumes from my house. Wink

It is actually the law that you have to use empty beer cans as side stand pucks. Wink
