Laughing

Classic

One thread is enough Razz

The top speed will be the same as a derestricted GPR50/RS50 give or take 1/2mph.

Indicated between 50 and 65, realistically more like 47mph.

The restrictor will most likely be a washer in the exhaust that just needs pulling out. If you can't get in there you might need to get a new exhaust though.

It could be in the carbs though, or the CDI, in which case you would need bigger reeds or a new CDI, which would be cheaper.

Reeds are £3-4 and a new CDI for my pit bike was £8.

Like the way you compare a GPR to an RS and a RS2 Laughing Embarassed

They both piss all over the GPR and mine will do around 51 on a bicycle speedo, with an idicated 58-60. But overall good bike to get mate sorry cant help on restrictions but i bought mine derezzed with the mods too.

Got a big bore kit then?

Because otherwise your oh so reliable bicycle speedo is lying.

Try using a datalogger.

Moonie is your a gpr50?
id guess so as your being tad protective of the gpr's haha.
Its a 50, learn to not care about speed, will save rebuild times.

It is, and I wouldn't have a problem with people saying it was slower than an RS if they were right lol.

My mate has an RS50, 2002, so newer than mine, and better looked after, and we can ride full throttle in 6th and stay right next to each other for miles.

Ha. Not a chance that a RS and RS2 will piss all over a GPR seeing as a GPR has the same engine as a RS!

They are all in the same speed band anyway so beating it by 1-2mph is 'pissing all over it'?

Another gpr member protecting his pride and joy haha?
Any rs owners want to proove em wrong?

Besides if your on about small sized bikes like this 1-2mph makes all the difference over a long straight gaining 2mph, might eventually get you to win, albeit by probably no more than a meter lol!

Oh yeh we all got to defend our bikes. Cool

What made me laugh was a mate of mine telling me this other boys ped (as in scooter) does 0-40 in 3 seconds. Couple of days later I over took him while he was maxed out at 45mph!!!

People do talk crap sometimes Laughing

Dont worry about speed til you get a 125. Regardless of whether you derestrict a 50 or not it will still be slow compared to traffic. Just your perception will change with that extra 15-20 mph.
