Just driving home from work, *clunk* Then neutral light comes on, but still driving along Shocked Pulled over, flicked through the gears, found neutral. Then went through, still same, when pulled up at home, theres a rubbing/whirring noise. Typical bike is having its MOT this month, anyone got any ideas??? Sad

The switch is stuck, just unscrew it from the engine, clean it up & put it back in... or just replace it. cheap as chips.

The switch has a spring & a ballbearing, the shifter drum has a bump on the end that pushes the ball down to make the light come on. I'm guessing it's either stuck down, or mullared. May have a bit of clag stuck in it, or the spring may have broke.
They're usually a 14mm head.

The wire will go on the pointy end, the other end with the ball goes into the casing. This one has 17mm head

Step one:
Take the one out of the old engine & make sure it works. Then you'l have it ready to swap... Wink

The test involves picking it up & giving the ball a squeeze... Shocked

It's not actually a ball, just looks like half of one. Usually copper.
