hi all,
while sitting on my bike in town today, putting on gloves etc,
observed a young lad, sitting on a little ped,dressed in cut offs,trainer & a t-shirt! ffs!
but anyway he was outside poundshop, opened up his carrier bag, pulled out a tin of lighter fuel (ronsonol) & proceeded to empty the can into his fuel tank!
am i missing something?
i know the stuff is for petrol lighters, but in a 2 stroke 50cc ped?
anyone offer any suggestions as to why anyone would do this & what would be the outcome?
cheers,
GAZ

Laughing

That's brilliant, I might start a rumour that it's easier to pour your engine oil in to the tank and it will make its way to the engine eventually and lube everything on the way.

Might surprise you though. A mate of mine has run his bike on BBQ lighter fluid, meths and white spirit/petrol mixture at various points on account of them being cheaper than petrol. It is a bit of a special bike though, he has modifications that means he can almost infinately vary the carb setup.

That said, if laddo was coming out of the pound shop, it presumably cost a pound and he is therefore far to believing of what his mates tell him

Indeed, hes probably been told it will make it fast.

I had a giggle today actually about a ped, I was in the Maccy Ds car park on the CBR, there was a lad (who worked at the Maccy Ds) trying to start his Yamaha Aerox. I wondered over as his scootay wasnt starting, Was gonna give him some help or whatever.

I told him about my speedfight I used to have, and that it was un-reliable because it was tuned etc. He went on to ask how fast it went.
I said "70mph at a push, bearing in mind it had £1500 worth of tuning work done on it". And he relied, "Ha, mines faster, it does 85 and its only got that leo Vince ZX pipe". Hmm, I was like Fuck ya then, fix your own bike. Middle Finger Laughing

It's not kerosene. It's petroleum. Kerosene doesn't light off a spark.

Kerosene is often mixedwith diesel by people to get them easier to start in winter but can be a bit damaging.. . wonder if is something similae? changing the grade of fuel?
