I've been looking at bikes in biketrader for the last few weeks but can't seem to make up my mind as to which one i like best. I've seen lovley examples of all these bikes and apart from a few quid cant decide which i'd like to sit on. Cost /is/ a factor so no Ducati suggestions etc..

Please vote and give opinions, i'm very confused. Confused

No jokes about being confused either. Laughing

Go for something original. Get a Busa. Plenty of power to show us all up with and it's not like you'll be on the race track all the time Very Happy

Bluegh, a few people have voted and not said why, surely some of you could give a reason for your choice? I need to know /why/ you would take one bike over another.

Cheers deano by the way. Wink Thumbs Up

Gone with the R1 for now, as I had a test ride on one (thanks Korn) and quite liked it. But, I'm really torn between the Busa and the R1, I guess I need a test ride on a Busa to know for sure which is the better road bike. Very Happy

R1, it's got to be one of the best looking mass produced Jap bikes around, in all it's carnations. What year are you looking at?

I'm currently looking at a few 2000 models, i considered a blade for a while also but they tend to cost a little more and IMO this increase in cost isn't justified. Sad

After the original Blade a good few years before, I recon the R1 is the best looking Japanese bike on the market. How much are you looking to spend, if you don't mind me asking? I looked at a 2001 R1 just before I bought the Blade for about £5.5K with 4K on the clock.

Have a ride on a TL1000R Just make sure it's one with a 1st gear which has teeth on it!

You're saying R1 over a Blade? Even the newer ones?

Busa = fat pig. If you are going to get an overweight straight line machine at least get the ZX12, it isn't ugly!

I voted for the R1 but a TLR would also be good after a Firestorm (more power, better handling etc) if you wanted to stick to the twins, but you would have to guard it well as Ste would try to steal the gearbox Laughing

For me the biggest difference between the Storm and the R1 is the weight, you really feel like you're riding a smaller bike and it drops from side to side a lot easier. Oh and the brakes! After sorting out the R1 brakes I don't know how the Storm ever stopped, there is no comparison Very Happy

Well to be honest i can stretch to about £4300-£4500 but thats dependent on how much i get for my bike, i've seen a few nice R1's for around 4k. I have always been a fan of a busa though but just don't want to get one and have Suzuki stop production next year or something.

I do love the new blades Dean but haven't seen any for the price i can pay in biketrader. Sad

Dem - I do think the R1 is the better looking bike, even though I'm on my second Blade now. The thing for me wasn't all about looks in the end though, I recon that the Blade is a better road bike. Now before anyone starts getting all defensive this is one of the reasons that I personally bought the Blade, along with the dealer being just down the road and the great deal he did for me. I couldn't get a decent deal on the R1 at the time.

I would still go out and buy the new R1 on looks alone though and if Trevor Franklin is to be believed, the 04 version is going to be hard to beat.

R1. The TL and Busa are fat and ugly, the ZX9 too dated (although possibly the better road bike and my second choice).

Hi,

Andrew - Is it my imagination, or were you considering buying a GSX-R 1000 Question

If you weren't, then I thought I just make a suggestion.

Cheers,

Will
