well where do i start... add me and lewi46 to the 08 spill counter.

me and lewi coming home from squires cafe last night around 9 oclock, both of us on his bike(dont worry he is legal and insured for pillions), heading towards rothwell slowing down from a 40, big blue peugeot people carrier think it was a taxi cant really remember.
the car slammed on and i think lewi must have swerved to the right to avoid it, however the car wasnt indicating and turned right.
we had no where to go and slammed in to the back of it.
i can just remember a massive bang and then what felt like ages after i hit the floor...
i was told after that lewi had gone over the front of the bike and hit the car, and i had been flung over the top and landed some distance down the road.
first thing i remember was jumping straight up and seeing lewi not moving in the middle of the road with his eyes wide open.
i absolutly shit my self, at the risk of sounding a puff ill not tell you how i was on the verge of breaking down screaming his name Cool
i feared the worst to say the least.
but then he started mumbling and talking so i was so releaved.
i then just told him to stay still and not move. then loads of people from a pub over the road came running out. meanwhile the cunt in the car had fucked off.
cant describe how angry i am, just wait til i find him.
but any way ambulance turned up and took us both to pinderfields hospital.
so the injuries are...
dislocated ankle and torn ligaments.
bruised and gashed hip.

and lewi has...
broken his collor bone
possible puncherd lung.
cuts and bruises all over
bruised ribs.

he is still in hospital this morning but should be getting out sometime today hopefully.

so yeah... essay over now
lol
oh yeah if any one sees a blue peugeot 807 people carrier, possibly a taxi, with heavy rear end damage. will probably be around the rothwell swillington area. could someone contact me please. hope i find him before the police do Wink

Sounds like a sore one, I hope you's both make a speedy recovery Thumbs Up

Although, I have to say, you's were clearly riding too closely two-up to the car in front. Especially a taxi... they always do silly manuovres. What was he thinking? Was he eyeing up totty at the pub you mention??
Riding so close that if the car in front brakes, you have to try and go down the side? Off your heads.

I also imagine insurance will blame your mate too if you go down that route, even though the other guy effed off.

Anyhow, like I said, I hope you both GWS and learn from this one...

Bad news mate, sounds like it could be an unlicenced "taxi" which is probably why he didn't hang around, best of luck with the claim and GWS to your mate. Thumbs Up

The fact that the other vehicle left the scene adds more to the argument that the car driver was at fault.

Sounds like a bit of a bad one. Hope the recovery goes well and forget about the fixing the bike until the bones and flesh are healed Thumbs Up

Was your bike red? I think it must have been you two guys that I passed that night wondering if all was OK.

Didn't see any point stopping as there were at least 30 people all gathered in the road at that point. Police were just arriving as I passed.

Hope everything is OK, but you might not want to tell the police (if you haven't already) that you were coming from a 40 zone - it changes from 60 to 30 about 3/4 mile back from where you were (just before bridge). Only 40 zone round there is the dual carriageway past the motor auctions.

GWS

I know when I watch MotoGp etc and riders come off regularly the visors do come off. As long as the helmet stays on and kepts your brain matter intact, then that is what matters. i think this is the same on most helmets.

Heal soon

Get well soon and that. Thumbs Up

If your mate went into the back of the taxi then it's his fault for following too closely. Okay the taxi should have indicated, but even if he'd indicated then he'd still have braked the same as he did so you and your mate would still have gone into the back of him.

Unlucky about the accident dude, I'm suprised you haven't recieved more sympathy on here to be honest; is everyone such a fucking riding God that they've never been caught out? I know I have and I bet I've ridden a fair few more miles than a lot on here. If a car infront begins to slow or even slams on the anchors with no warning, then turns right with no indication, then that is an offence in itself.

The fact the people carrier fucked off sharpish speaks volumes in cases such as this. With a motionless person in the road how someone can just disappear is beyond me, even though I was in a similar position a few months ago. Luckily for us the police generally treat hit-and runs involving bikers or pedestrians very seriously.

I hope they find him and if they do, get an independant solicitor on the case (www.sorrymate.com is who I'm using - seem very good so far).

Thumbs Up Good luck

Ouch. I hate people who drive off after something as serious as this.

I live in the surrounding area and will keep my eyes peeled. Chances are the 807 was not insured and might be in hiding now.

Whereabouts was the accident? A63 or the A642

Get well soon. Karma Thumbs Up

Glad to hear your back riding again so quick and that you both came through in mostly one piece. Let us know how straightening out the bike out goes.
