hi all,
first of all, apologies for "how long is a piece of string question"
spent last couple of years playing with small 2 strokes,
after rekindling my interest in bikes.
hypothetical question :
full licence holder,
now looking for that elusive ideal bike!
engine size irrelevant (not too small though!)
to be used daily for commuting,
& weekends, so intending to do high milage.
something that is reliable,
style not important,
no flimsy plastics,
something that revs like a 2t, ie high!
but not requiring using the gearbox so much!
dont like being really squatting down, like on some of the racing bikes,
not too heavy.
easy to repair or get repaired,
decent fuel economy,fuel guage.
& obviously cheap to buy,
insurance groupl not important due to age!
ideas please?
where do i start? lol
cheers,
GAZ

an oil cooled gixxer fighter Thumbs Up
i think there is an 1100 on edinburgh gumtree at the mo 650quid, i dare say its sold, but any oldskool gsxr fighter ticks all the boxes,
probably a 750 would be the way as it revs a bit higher

You're in luck mate, ive got a speed 4 Laughing
Its basically a naked tt600, slightly detuned engine but quick enough for me. It screams to 14000 rpm, stops like you've hit a brick wall, handles like nothing else and looks like nothing else! Laughing (apart from speed triples, of course)
Its fairly comfy for a sports bike, is cheap to insure (for me anyway - 28yrs old, 1 yrs ncd) and you can pick them up cheap if you look hard enough Thumbs Up
