I bought some of the cheep radios from Lidl that allow me to communicate with my pillion. I took it out the other day on an hours drive to the beach and really liked the idea using it and enjoyed the banter between my girlfriend and I. The radio could also be plugged into my phone so we both could hear sat nav and listen to mp3s.

The problem is that the radio is of the very cheap and nasty variety. The earphone and mic is a one piece jobby and the actually ear phones were pretty pants. I had to have the volume on 100% compared to me sony frontopia earphones that are loud on only 40%

Are better radios out there with the same functionality and can you recommend some?

Thanks

Scala rider teamset.....simply brilliant and no stupid wires or control box to carry around.

I can hear everything crystal clear and instead of the sound going straight into my ears through a "piece".. it fills the whole helmet due to how the speakers are positioned. (even at 100mph).
I don`t know how good it`d sound with a race pipe on but if you`ve got a standard zaust it`ll be perfect.

i have the lidl's rider-pillion ones and have always found them good, i then bought the new model they had this year and it was fine for a lot higher speeds. but i also bought the rider-rider radios, i put the headsets from them to the rider/pillion unit with an adaptor and found them much better, fitted in the helmet and no ear piece to fiddle with as such - and the addition of the push to talk switch was much better when out on a long ride but not talking much, no wind noise then cos the button wasnt pressed - also the headsets and mics are higher quality.

Autocom systems are the dogs bollox.

But they aint cheap (think about 175 ish for the kit 200 duo that allows you to connect radios .

You can connect radios, mp3s, satnavs, phones even bluetooth stuff with additional connectors and the quality really is the best ive heard intercom wise.

I like it and for talking it works fine, but I find that the music sounds aweful through it at over 50mph and the the volume level can be too low at times.

I've got about £50 to spend on a slightly better one. What are my options?
