Save your money and buy a new battery - quickest way to kill them is to leave them sat in a discharged state!

Any of the optimate, acumen or Ctek are good. Maplins sell cheap trickle chargers.

To be honest I have one from Aldi and a car battery charger from Ebuyer (<£5) that have charge rates of around 1 amp and both work fine.

Optimate will keep batteries topped up (hence the name) but wont revive a dead battery. Time for a new one.

It all depends on what battery it is. If it's a good brand like yuasa etc then it should take being stood for a few months. My mate's was stood for 6 and then after a charge of the battery it's holding up fine.

Mine has a damn good go at it.

Quoted.
Diagnoses deep-discharge or light sulphation and automatically starts an unique special recovery treatment with precision controlled parameters to recover many neglected batteries, even from as low as 2 Volts. In really difficult cases the interactive programme even gives the battery a subsequent "second shot"!

Some do, some don't. Mine is the gel sealed type, completely maintenance free so long as it's kept charged obviously.

From personal experience I would say that there are very few chargers that are better than an optimate 3.
