They can be if you don't buy a cheap one.

If you look on some of the tuning shop websites for scooters it will tell you the best 70cc kits for standard cranks Thumbs Up

if you are still 16 it voids your insurance which is illegal.

Should be just s reliable as 50 kit, probably made in the same factory. Although you can get 70 kits which cost more than others so its anyones guess, you get what you pay for usually.

Big bore kits are, and I say this with 2 seized cylinders of experience, not as reliable as the standard. There is no question about it.
A 50cc bike all stock can be revved like crazy as much as you want and will most likely be fine.
If you want one, you should get an iron cast one (maybe not iron but thats what they call them here). They are not as fast but much more durable.

Not had one myself as I had a tzr which is liquid cooled.
I had the Top Performances "Pink", and an Athena 70cc.
But both of them were aluminium and both seized. First one seized cause I ragged it, second one seized cause it felt like it.
Malossi is a good brand though and I trust them. Maybe I forgot to mention that iron cylinders are cheaper, but yeah that sounds a little too cheap.
IF you are responsable enough not to rag the tits of the bike, and warm it up properly etc then I would still go for aluminium, but that depends on you. There are some very good (but very pricey) kits from malossi and metrakit.
Metrakit make the Pro Race kit, which is top of the line.
Malossi make the MHR which is pretty much on the same level.
Are you going all out or just want the scoot a little faster?

Go on this website and search for your bike. Look for the Polini Sport Thumbs Up

They do it in a 50cc version for 6-7hp or the 70cc version for 9hp.

Fitting just a 70 kit will not make it any faster.

BUT it is cheaper to get an after market 70kit than it is to get a genuine 50 replacement kit.

If you have the dosh, Go for the MHR Rep kit. I had one on my speedfight, They are bullet proof if you look after them, Use good oil, Warm it up before you rag it etc. Thumbs Up

A 70cc kit does not make your bike faster.

Your engine will not spin over faster so neither will your wheels, you will have to alter your gearing aswell. It may well accelerate a bit faster though.

They are less reliable than standard kits.

Wait a bit longer and get a decent bike when your old enough

Yeh, The 70 kits are only worth doing if you are going to upgrade all the other bits to compensate.

If you want more speed, And better pick up. Just get yourself a Polini Speed Control Kit. And a Decent power pipe.

Upjet the carb to suite the Pipe. And its just a case of playing with your roller and clutch spring combo's until you are happy with the performance.

With all that money you could spend trying to improve it, it's better just to use that money to buy a second hand 100-125 scooter off ebay or in classifieds etc. Problem solved, and so much less fuss.

i wouldnt even bother to get a 70s kit either they dont really make much difference unless you got all the other performance parts to help it run better and quicker
