got a slight problem with the electrics on my bike
sometimes when i turn ignition on there would be no lights coming on, and nothing to the starter when button pressed nothing to the headlights or indicators and rev counter stops working.
now if i fiddle with the cables down by the choke lever the lights all work again
ive checked all the connections and they all seem tight so im thinking maybe a broken wire
but which is the connector that goes to the headlight loom?

it's a piece of steel near the bottom yoke where is 2 connectors , 1 is for the clocks , the other one for the lights . your problem is surely a faulty switch key . you can change it without replacing the lock . the switch is fixed by 2 screws under the lock , but for my money it's more likely at the switch wires junction
