\o/ Mr. Green I've booked my PPL with https://www.flyoba.com/ Very Happy

15th June - 7th July

I'm going with a few mates from uni to make it more fun.

Incase your wondering it's costing me 3k for the PPL itself and £377 for the flight to and from Florida. The PPL price includes everything except food.

Look out at Bulldog bash for me trying to land a 152 on the strip. Wink

Good luck mate, take some boiled sweets so your ears don't pop. Are you actually going to buy a plane? Thumbs Up

Maybe one day. Smile

I'm studying to be a commercial pilot so getting my PPL is one of the first steps.

Oh I just realised not everyone will know what PPL stands for: Private Pilot's License. Smile

I'll be flying this beast.

Top speed: about 125 MPH : almost the same as my bike. Laughing

Normal fuel consumption: 23 liters per hour (varies with throttle setting) : Makes a storm/TL look good. Laughing

Ah, but that hour will get you at least 100 miles probably, which would be a fair bit further on the ground because of the twistyness of roads (unless you fly to texas Razz ) etc... so probably about the same total cost... and you don't have to worry about speeding tickets Razz.

Remember to watch the film Iron Eagle before you go Danny.

You have to "Run the Snake" and play that dodgy 80's music too Wink
Good luck and take some sweeet pics so we can all be jealous Smile

{edit} I have it on DVD Embarassed Remember to check that no one has loosened your oil pressure cap before you fly!

Maybe you could go for the whole 80's flying film package and change your handle to Maverick...

"Maverick and Goose!" {edit}

By booking you PPL do you mean you've booked your first lesson or that you've booked the test?
Have you already done your 40 ( Question ) hours of flying?

I'm doing my theory for the PPL now at uni.

I'll be doing all the exams and flight training in Florida, it's 55 hours last time I checked.

Teehee, Nice one matey. There's an internet cafe in Daytona and some wicked clubs. But I would only recommend going to them after the bulk of your flying. I want lots of pics so I can see if there's anyone still there.

Watch out for the Embry Riddle guys. They have a habit of hitting flagpoles Very Happy
And have fun matey! I bloody did Very Happy

Oh, how comes you chose the Cessna and not the arrow/seminole route?

I doubt I get a choice of what I fly unless I pay extra, so I'm assuming they are going to put me in the cheapest aircraft.

I don't think I can get into clubs there because I under 21?

You can get in at 18 but they don't let you drink. That is easily solved Smile
