i posted a little bit ago about finding oil on my left boot toe. i'm pretty sure i know where it came from now. fork seal is going. i figure some oil leaks out, runs down the fork, then at speed blows back onto my boot.
new ones ordered.
Thumbs Up

hmm, maybe not entirely. after another look at the bike, the path from the forks back to my boot is kinda blocked by the fairing... but im not sure what else it could be. its not over filed with oil. the only other thing i can think it would be is coolant. i cant see anywhere else that anything is leaking.

My last GPZ would push oil out through the filler cap on long runs and it would get my boot, checked that?

my oil filler cap is on the other side, and as far as the gear change, surely there would be some kind of evidence around it of a leak?

Have you cleaned the engine up? If not, that's the first thing I'd do trying to find the leak.

I've had plenty of leaky fork seals and never noticed it ending up on my boot, even on quite thin bikes. Way before then, I'd expect there to be a decent trail going down your forks.
