It is dark red. The brickwork, it's called a feature. |

Well if you want to be picky . . .
No. Midrange varies from low rpm to high rpm hence the term midrange. If I'd said "at the bottom end" or "the top end of the rev range . . . ". I was particularly refering to the power in each gear and the way it is delivered.
McGee - I couldn't lose the exhaust it's got two valves inside it and one flips open at different rev ranges making a great noise. |

Ah, I didn't realise its got two valves.
But would it be the same as the other modern 1000's where you just reuse the valves ?
The one thing other than the exhaust I dislike is the gold engine covers, very Kawasaki. Its not detracting from the sexiness just when I see it I think of a J1 zx6r.
Man I would have to polish that bad boy, give to Lee. ____________________ ◙◙► K6 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 1000 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► 96 RF600r ◄◙◙

The valves are actually in the can part IFAIK, one definately is you can see it when you look in. Honda have apparently said to the aftermarket manufacturers good luck if you think you can make any more power. |

Naff.
Sorry...I didn't like it when it was displayed in magazines but reserved judgement until I seen it in real life. Didnae like it at all. Unlike the RC8, which looks shit in magazines but is a sexy bitch "IRL".
Supposed to be a top motor in it though from what I have heard. |

Very nice! so, physically, how small are these bikes? I've heard they're in CBR 400 size territory, must be a lot of power to weight ratio... ____________________ I Ride: Honda CBR 400RR.

quacker-boy - 5th Blade now.
Darkviper - It's always worth a test ride.
instigator - meh.
Fahd - Not really CBR400 probably more like the previous generation of 600's if we're honest and lose the journo speak. It's quite quick up to 70. |

The fairings can be put on the NC29 very easily, They don't need cutting down or anything unlike the older blade fairings.
However, the actual "bike" part (rather than fairings) is a damn sight bigger than the NC29 (and 23) ive sat on one of these new blades. Clip ons are alot further apart (like any modern bike), Higher seating position giving much more leg room, And the tank is mahoosive compared to the 400 range too.
Again, Id say its more like the older CBR6s.
If I had the money, Id have one tomorrow, Absolutely stunning bit of kit. Im on my first "Blade" at the moment, Id like to think i'll be on a CBR6RR before the end of the year.

There was one parked in front of me at work today, looked good, in red and white I think? The number plate holder and looks awful and out of place as its so far from the actual undertray. Not sure on the little stubby can, but better than a huge skud missile launcher down the side of the bike I suppose. ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

Don't like that personally , The colours remind me of a vayron. Ditch the massive tail, the exhaust and I reckon the tank would look better red. I usually like ugly bikes too having a Speed Four and TDM 900
Anyway don't care what I say enjoy it ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.

A tail tidy is the only thing I'm contemplating really. Unfortunately there are only two on the market at the moment as the bike is so new and it's a complete undertray replacement so not too cheap.
I have talked to a couple of dealers about the looks because I really didn't like it in the pre-release photos, especially compared to my sliver 06. They were saying that it really divided opinions, even saying they were worried until they actually had them on the showroom floor. For me it was a lot better in the flesh than the pics, especially the little finishing touches like the embossed badges and the colour schemes really work in the sunlight. You really can't appreciate the metal flake until you see one sitting outside in the sun.
The riding position and seat is less wristy and there's a longer stretch to the footpegs. The switch gear and clutch is very un-Honda like at the moment; a nice sweet change rather than a 1st and 2nd gear clunk. The clutch is now back to cable rather than hydraulic and is nice and smooth with a positive disengage, oddly like an on off switch but with a smooth transition. I'm not sure if that is due to the slipper clutch as I've never used one before. Again the bike is an evolution but a worthwhile purchase over the outgoing model. But then I would say that. |

Ok so it's a racing system but as long as you keep it quiet around town i'm sure you'll be fine ____________________ wizzzard wrote: Imagine God just stopping by, tidying your front room up and then quietly letting himself out again. Statisticly more likely to happen than Korn being on here. |
