That wasn't irony. Irony would have been going to the bakery (wtf, a bakery?) to buy a lottery ticket and winning a custard tart.

Also, i find it a bit sad that you use a young lads' death at the hands of a vicious coward in a bakery, to bemoan the evils of gambling.

Today I suffered a rather annoying bout of 'irony.'

Had parked my work van (Mercedes Sprinter) in a parking space in Moorgate, and went off to do a job nearby.

An hour later I returned, taking the key out of my pocket, and realising half had snapped off in my pocket...

A few moments panic, and a quick call to 118 118, and an emergency locksmith is on his way in a van.

45 minutes later he arrives, takes my old broken key, and cut's a new test one.

He walks over to my van to test the new key, and it works, so returns back to his van to program the immobiliser in.

And he's gone and bloody locked himself out of his van!

Que 2 of us sitting on our arses for 3 hours waiting for his mate to arrive with his spare keys.

Maybe I forgot them because I've been working all day and fancied relaxing on a forum, where I will be fine writing in a style my English teachers are too relaxed to pick me up on.

There is a commonly citated statistic that says you are more likely to be stabbed on the way to the shops than win the lottery.

Therefore the bloke who was stabbed on the way to buy his first lottery ticket and then got stabbed was prety ironic.
