And they wonder why apart from the overpriced ferries and the overpriced accomodation that people are stopping coming to what used to be a fantastic celebration of motorcycling

It's absolutely ridiculous. The Hairpin is a few minutes' walk from mine, and that's a favourite spot of mine to watch. That's not going to happen this year. Neither is Governor's Bridge, which was also a great place to watch - not now, with the new road in place.

It looks like they've restricted the Gooseneck and the Creg too. Other good places to watch.

Stevep - I'd be feeling exactly the same if I didn't live on the Island. I had years of travelling over on the bike, and I hated that part of the trip, along with paying through the nose for accommodation. The IoM Government just can't/won't see it though, so don't do anything about it. Soooo frustrating. Mad

But no matter what they do me and the family just get drawn back year after year and we are thinking seriously about moving over ourselves ha ha .and yep trixie there is no viewing in front of the creg where they normally have the fencing up to sit behind. No viewing from glen moar cafe could put them out of business as they make a mint once the road is closed on race and practice days its a bit sad really cos its one of my fave viewing points and just another bit of the history gone Alpine too you would have to be so far back you wouldnt see a thing Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

...And I think from memory they've stopped viewing between Ballaspur and Ballig (at the end of Tynwald Mills Road). That's a fantastic place to watch.

It just looks like they're prohibiting the best places to watch, as I know there's quite a few places over the mountain section which are now out of bounds too.

Fastkwak - if you and your family do decide to move (or even consider it seriously), drop me a PM or something, and I'll do my best to give you as much info as possible - you know, work permits, vehicle re-registration, etc.

You should be fine, then. Some companies here insist on qualifications but others are fine and are happy to accept experience. Thumbs Up
