I'm finally well enough to ride again after my accident last year, but sadly my bike is still being fixed. Probably will be a week before I can have it back. Neutral

I really need to go back to work - I tried going in on the tube but it left me in absolute agony because my leg just isn't up to all the walking and standing. The extra money from a week's work in my pocket would be extremely useful as my finances are really starting to run very dry right now.
Any of the major hire places appear to charge what I earn in a week for a 500 (pointless) and even the 125s aren't exactly a great deal. Wondering if there's any way I could get hold of something for less than 100 quid for a week?

Cheers.

Ever tried google ???

1 st hit

£155 a week for a cg 125
£195 for a cbf 500

Just make sure you have good cover and take a waiver out or it could be even more expensive.......

Yeah, I've looked there - obscene prices though is what I'm saying.

Surely couriers don't pay silly money like that when they hire bikes. I was wondering if there are cheaper ways to go about it away from the mainstream.

Compare that to a price of a car and its not bad.

take a look at their courier prices.

Quote:

Courier hire rates:-

Weekly Rate
Up to 400cc £110
500cc £135

But you have to hire for a month, so thats only a saving of £60 a week.
Remember bike hire is not as common as car and damage will be a greater risk.

A lot of London couriers have stickers on their bike saying the bike was rented from Hexagon motorcycles. Seems they do rental for insurance etc: https://www.hexagonmotorcycles.co.uk/

Ouch.

I had a Bandit and then an FZ6 through Hexagon on an insurance basis (reversed into when parked, and considerate bloke left details, not another crash Shocked). I seem to recall they were charging something ridiculous like £700 a week for the privilege.

I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they can offer on the private front though, there isn't really much information about that on their website. Thanks.

What would be really useful is a dealer that lets me take a different bike out for a 24hr test ride every day of the week and opens at 7am. Mr. Green

Sickpup has some VERY bad things to say about Hexagon and the advice was don't touch with a 10 ft barge pole.

I have had a couple of bikes from hexagon for work, i never found any problems with them, drop in once a week for a full service,

I wasent footing the bill personally but from what i remeber both 125's and 500's are less than 100/w.

I had no problems with Hexagon before, but then I wasn't using them for business purposes...

They told me 85 quid a week for a CB500, but that's excluding insurance. They require a minimum of TPFT cover, so "ride any bike" cover won't do it, and they charge 20 quid a day for their own insurance. Can't find anyone that provides insurance for hire bikes, anywhere.

What a ridiculous situation. Mad
