Bike Gear

Im only on a 50 RS2, but i think that bike gear is very important So ive gone out and priced up some gear and wanted your opinion..

So without looks being a major deciding point and safety obviously number one! Im compiled a list of things that i want to go and buy tomorrow from the store in an all black theme. Are any of these brands reputable or to be avoided?

My budget is low, i was aiming for low-middle range stuff.

HJC CS10 Helmet
Schoeller Keprotec Gloves
Prexport PXT Leather Jacket
Nitro Swift Boots
And a pair of trousers yet to be decided..

Im pretty much ok on the sizes (tried helmet on and stuff), apart the boots, i havent tried any on, just been browsing. My query is, do they fit like normal shoes/trainers or are they different, as i may have to have them ordered from the shop as the shop is tiny and the stock isnt too great.

I know this isnt going to be an extortionate bill but like i say my budget is limited so i would prefer a second opinion

At least you're not going for the usual 50cc attire of a Nitro helmet and a Lonsdale hoodie, which has to be applauded, so to you sir.

Looks like you've chosen wisely, other stuff that may be worth looking at is Bering.

On the boots front no they dont fit like normal shoes/trainers, it's best to try on as many as possible. Some boots suit wider or narrower feet, so best to try on as many brands as you can. If you're near Peterboro I'd say try and go to the BMF show, but otherwise just go to the biggest bike shop you can find and try on a load.

Yeah the sterotypical 16 year moped rider doesnt appeal to me at all

I had a feeling you was going to say that about the boots, As a generalisation, do they tend to come larger or smaller than standard footwear? I think maybe the wider style would be better for me personally, i think the fit would be more comfortable, but like you say, im best off trying loads of different pairs!

Haha, Nitro lid - whats wrong with them - my brother has one just started bikeing with me both got 125s i got a Caberg (£130) duno if it's any good and he got a Nitro for £50 i think

Yes, well done on getting proper gear mate, its definatly worth shelling out for
RST stuff is quite well priced and decently made, you can get matching trousers and a jacket for under £300.
Ive got a Bericke textile jacket, it cost £140 but is well made, warm, waterproof and i feel confident wearing it
